The date was finally here for the biggest
import car event in the world. The Pan American Nationals
at Atco Raceway. Every year the Pan Americans get bigger and better and
this year was no exception! There was a 32 car field of cars. Shipped straight
from Puerto Rico were 16 of the fastest machines most of us have ever seen.
Team USA didn't stay behind because 16 of the fastest imports the states have
to offer made there mark as well making it a very interesting event.
The impressive quarter mile times started Friday night when the white Rx7
of Pica Motors stopped the time clock at 7.13 breaking his record of 7.18
he had established in Puerto Rico a few weeks before coming to this event.
Lots of new record times were broken at this years Pan Ams proving to everyone
on hand that a lot of hard work and preparation goes into their machines for
this one race. Once all of the dust settled Team Puerto Rico's Adriana is
back took the $10,000 purse back to Puerto Rico.
Racing was not the only thing to see at the Pan Americans this year. Live
music, plenty of food, and lots of vendors were a highlight of the weekend.
There was also a great car show on the Saturday portion of the event in which
Team Toyminator also participated. The team brought home 5 trophies with 5
of cars and also best club representation with our crew.
Stay tuned for the dates to next years 15th Annual Pan American Nationals
at Atco Raceway because they without a doubt will be the place to see some
of the best racing all year long. If you would like further details on the
racing action at Atco visit www.atcorace.com or contact them directly at (856)768-2167.
I would like to thank Joe Sway Jr. for giving Team Toyminator the opportunity
to once again bring this coverage to our many supporters all over the world.
